Impressions from the snowy town

Oh it has been such a long time since I grabbed my laptop and dedicated time to my blog. It is a shame I know. If I were little bit more dedicated, this blog would be really up to date. Not only with my personal life but also the interesting/cool things could voice themselves. Anyway, better late than never..

While my blog was sleeping, USA elections were finalised and Obama won big time. It was a victory. It was the time when racism tooka new turn and black people, or all suffering minorites felt more dignity. I mean, we humankind, will never erase racism completely. If Obama’s cabinet’s majority was made of blcks, how would USA react to it? Color still matters. Shame. It is sad and shameful but it is true. I have been following this “race” since January. I watched all debates on CNN when I was in Manila. They were breathtaking. Hillary vs Obama was a big event to watch. They sometimes inspired me. Hillary Clinton’s “i am not a quitter” philosophy kicked my a** when I was thinking about quitting WBMN. But of course, it was sometimes embarassing for her, that she would not quit no matter what. A few days ago, it was announced that Hillary will be the Foreign Affairs Minister in Obama’s cabinet. That’s good for the USA and the world. What a poisition for a woman. After Con. Rice, I am sure she will do a much better job. Sarah Palin is over. Good for mankind! Good for women’s dignity. She made fool of herself, and many other woment. Her interview with Couric and Tina Fey’s personalizations were just hillarious. This election period has been a long, draining period but it was worth following with all details. While CHP cannot get rid of Baykal in Turkey, while Erdogan thinks himself he is the king of the jungle, we should learn our democracy lesson from the USA. Democrats spent months, almost a year in fromt of world media’s eyes, to choose the One.

Beg of this month I started my new job. Conditions are amazingly good.  Nice colleagues, 3 different cantinas each serving different menus, ergonomic table adjustable to height, samsung brand new PDA, light DELL laptop but a big nice monitor with brand new wireless keyboard, all sorts of coffee/tea options to serve yourself a nice cappucino whenever you feel like in the office.. Flexible workhours.. Come to office at 8 or 9.. Up to you.. My boss is very understanding, doesn’t bother to deal with petty things. I want to go to Turkey for Christmas and I had to take 22 and 23 dec off. All I do is to enter it on the excel sheet. I dont have to ask for permission. That’s so cool. My company also hired a Danish tutor who comes to our office twice a week. It is just for me to learn Danish as soon as possible. It is putting pressure on me of course. Now because they are paying for it maybe they are expecting more from me. But in any case, a JOB can never be more Comfortable than this one.

The whole global financial sector is cracking. Citibank is firing 50K people all around the world, Akbank fored 1350 people in Turkey.. Vestel fired my friends on such small short notice. Single girls, living with their families and having car, flat etc had no luck. They were the first ones to get the sack. A company is firing people and then trying to estalish social justice by not firing people with children.. Is this really justice? I don’t buy it…

It is snowing in Copenhagen now.. It first snowed this friday. It is cold ok but it is also nice to see around covered with white.. Today it was snowing like in Christmas movies. So beautiful and pure. It has not been muddy yet so it is beautiful to watch.

Oh I was almost forgetting telling about my Lost addiction. Since 13th of November I have been watching LOST non stop. I also recruited Morten to watch it with me. To my surprise and good luck, he also liked it very much. So everyday we are watching 2-3 episodes and this way, we’ll finish the 4th season within 1 week/10 days. Now we are at the end of the 3rd season. It is so exciting. I like John Locke, Kate, Jack and Sawyer, Desmond and Sayid. Almost all of the gang! I have been watching and thinking about it so much that lately most of dreams’ themes is weird remote places and chaotic dreams are all I get..
